1. Introduction

This manual is published by Questelon (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/535416/07), a private body as defined in the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (PAIA). It describes the records Questelon holds and how you may request access to them.

This manual is separate from our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal information under POPIA. This manual is about your right, under PAIA, to formally request access to records we hold.

3. Records we hold

As a small, solo-founder digital product company, the categories of records we hold are:

  • Company registration and statutory records (CIPC, SARS, banking).
  • User account and app-activity records for our products (e.g. Bountrek), held in our systems (Firebase/Google Cloud).
  • Correspondence with users, testers, partners, and service providers (email).
  • Financial records: invoices, payment processor records, and accounting records.
  • Contracts and agreements with service providers.

4. How to request access to a record

To request access to a record we hold, send a written request to [email protected] including:

  1. Your full name and contact details.
  2. A description of the record you are requesting, in enough detail for us to locate it.
  3. Proof of identity (to protect against records being released to the wrong person).
  4. If you are requesting on someone else's behalf, proof that you're authorised to do so.

We will respond within the timeframe PAIA requires (currently 30 days, extendable in limited circumstances with notice to you). Some requests may be declined where PAIA permits — for example, where a record contains another person's personal information, or falls under a recognised exemption — and we will explain the reason if that happens.

5. Fees

A request fee and, where applicable, an access fee may apply, in line with the fee schedule prescribed under PAIA regulations. We will let you know the applicable fees, if any, once your request is received.

6. If your request is refused

If we refuse your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa, or to apply to court for relief, as provided for under PAIA.
